The Annunciation of the Lord is not just a moment in salvation history – it is an invitation. An invitation to say yes before you understand. To trust before you see. To carry something in faith before it becomes visible.
This novena is not nine days. It is nine months – mirroring the hidden life of Christ in the womb of Mary. Because some prayers are not meant to be rushed…they are meant to be formed.
How to Pray this Novena
This is not about perfection. It’s about posture. Each day (or as often as you can), you will:
- 1. Begin with stillness
- 2. Pray the daily offering
- 3. Sit with the monthly theme
- 4. Journal of reflect
- 5. Entrust your “impossibly request(s)” to God again
You can spend 5 minutes or 30. What matters is consistency, not length.
Daily Opening Prayer
Lord,
Just as You came into the world quietly, come into my life now. I bring before You what feels impossible:
(state your intention/intentions here)
I do not ask only for an answer – I ask to be transformed. Give me the grace to trust You, to surrender fully, and to say yes like Mary did.
Let it be done to me according to Your word.
Amen.
The Nine-Month Journey
You don’t need to have the whole journey figured out right now. Like Mary, we are not given the whole story at once – only the grace for the next step. Each month, this post will be updated with a new theme added so you can walk through it slowly, intentionally, and without rushing what God is doing.
Return here each month on the 25th and continue saying yes, one step at a time.
Month 1: Surrender

Mary’s first act was not understanding – it was surrender.
Focus: Releasing control
Scripture: Luke 1:38
Reflection: What am I still trying to control?
Prayer Prompt: “Lord, I release my timeline, my expectations, and my need to understand. Into Your hands, I commend my spirit.”
