Hi there! I’m Allie, a Catholic convert since 2017, sharing my journey of faith, creativity, and everyday joys. By day, I work as a PR assistant for a nonprofit, but my heart is at home baking, reading, painting, or crocheting something special. I’m passionate about embracing the beauty of Catholic living and finding God’s grace in the little things. Some of my favorite simple pleasures include Dr. Pepper, musicals, and game nights with friends and family. Patron Saint
I chose St. Veronica for my patron saint. St. Veronica is known for her act of compassion during the Passion of Christ as the Lord carried His cross to Calvary. Veronica wiped His face with her veil and in return, His image was miraculously imprinted upon the cloth. This act symbolizes empathy, courage, and reverence for our Lord and embodies the Gospel’s call to offer kindness.
BAker extraordinaire
Not quite yet…but I make some pretty mean cookies and my bread making journey is off to a pretty good start. There’s nothing a dusting of powdered sugar can’t fix. I’ve had my share of floury pasta and underbaked sweets, but hey, that’s part of the learning process.
HGTV enthusiast
There is just something therapeutic about watching walls come down and the old to be made new again. I like to think of myself as an unofficial correspondent – minus the camera crew and polished budget. All I need is my Dr. Pepper and a few episodes of Fixer Upper and I’m ready to knock down walls, install ship lap, and flip a house. In reality I’m switching pillow covers and redecorating the dining room table, but in my mind, I’m seconds away from a call from Chip and Joanna!
My values
As a Catholic woman, my faith serves as my compass, guiding me towards my vocation as a future wife and homemaker. Rooted in the teachings of Christ, I strive to embrace the values of love, patience, and service. Proverbs 31:10-31 inspires me with the image of a virtuous woman whose worth is beyond rubies, skillfully tending to her home and loved ones. I aspire to cultivate a home radiating of warmth and grace, where love and devotion echo in the everyday. In embracing my path, I am prepared to nurture my family (both current and future) in faith and fill our home with the spirit of God’s unending love.
Prayer is powerful
Conversations and a relationship with God is such an important aspect of our spiritual journeys. In the sacred act of prayer, we find a sanctuary where the soul communes intimately with our Creator. It is not merely words uttered, but a divine encounter, echoing the sentiment of Matthew 6:6: “But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” In the silence, the heart finds its language, and the spirit is uplifted beyond earthly burdens. Prayer becomes a daily pilgrimage, guiding us towards peace, transforming us with grace, and aligning our hearts with the will of God.
